Competitive Skater

TAKE YOUR SKATING TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Take the STAGE

Thinking about competing? As a member, you will continue to learn from a TRFSC skating professional with private lessons. With your coach, you will receive one-on-one training designed with your goals in mind. As you learn new elements and moves, skaters have the opportunity to test up to the next level. Additionally, you may choose to skate competitively. Your coach will guide you through this as well. Competing is not required, but it's a wonderful experience to showcase your hard work in a USFS sanctioned event. TRFSC skaters participate in competitions across the metro and sometimes beyond.

OUR COMPETITION

Skate in the Park is a skating competition hosted annually in February by TRFSC in Brooklyn Park.  Come and cheer on our club skaters and see what it's all about!

TIME OF TRANSITION

2023 - 2024 is a time of transition in the world of US Figure Skating. There has been a reconfiguration and renaming of many of the common events.

For general reference, if you are a beginner you may now see:

Aspire 2 – typically close to former Beginner

Aspire 3 -typically close to former High Beginner

There are now 2 tracts for the mid to upper competition levels:

Excel and Well- Balanced

Generally, you ascend from Pre-Preliminary up many levels to Gold.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF

Competitions are a chance to show off what you've been working on.

Did you know you can compete in categories like jumps, spins, skating skills, as well as your singles performance?

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT EVENT TO CHOOSE?

Don't worry - your coach will guide you on which level to register for based on what skills you are working on and your qualifications (specifically what level testing you have completed).
